Mountains, Valleys, Beaches and Caves
Mexico is a small, dry and terribly hot country which lies below the US ...
... people think and are totally wrong.
We have travelled thousands of kilometers on land (car, train), water (ship) and in air (plain) from sea level to nearly 3.000 m.
We went after the "Yucatan-trip" in September 2006 - which brought us to Mexico-City, Puebla, Merida and the archaelogical sites - to teh west of Mexico in March 2007.
The impressive world of animlas and plants can be found in "Flora and Fauna" - the country itself following:
After a trip from Guadalajara to Topolobampo, we crossed the water to La Paz and went to the Southern peek of Baja California Sur. Fantastic! In the below seen gate the Pazific and the Sea of Cortes come together - this is why you can stand on two oceans at one beach at the same time - unique in the world!
... even though the other beaches can not be disregarded ...
Beach of "Bahia Santa Maria"
After a short round trip in Baja California Sur ...
... we went back from La Paz to Topolobampo and the next bigger city "Los Mochis", starting point for an adventurous trip by train direction Chihuahua in the socalled Coppercanyon, a part of the biggest canyon system in North America ...
... during the trip the train stops at the socalled "Divisadero", the watershed between the Atlantic and Pacific Ocean ...
... from here you have a phenomenal view on the canyon panorama of the Rio Urique.
After spending a night in teh city of Creel, we did - before we went back - a little round trip, on which we had a look at the stone mushrooms.
During teh trips before we saw ...
... the Popocatepetl close to Puebla (with prove! ... as it is so nice... ok, because Steffi is so pritty) ...
... and teh highest mountain of Mexico (close
to Puebla direction to the Gulf of Mexico),
the Volcan Pico de Orizaba (in good and bad mood)...
... as well as the Cenote of Dzitnup
(which was acually discovered by a pig - which also says teh name itself)
... and the cascades close to Tapalpa (which is approximately one hour away from GDL driving into Pacific coast direction).
